Our Amber Pin is made from fossilized resin that has been cut, polished and wrapped in a sterling silver bezel. Like most amber, the gemstone in our pin has the characteristic flecks created by natural matter caught in the sticky substances before it undergoes its glamorous transition. While we're not sure exactly what caused these marks, we like to imagine that they're the vestiges of a mosquito that later moved to California and starred in Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park. So there you have it folks, a chance to own a little piece of Hollywood.

Our Braided Silver Cuff is made from strands of sterling silver that have been braided together by hand and inlaid onto a silver cuff. This statement piece was created in India, but we think it looks like something straight out of a superhero’s wardrobe. It reminds us of Wonder Woman's bracelets of submission (yes; apparently that’s what they’re called). While a little cosplay never hurt nobody, we prefer to think of this as the cuff of autonomy. Cuffs are the modern woman’s answer to bracelets; easy to slip on and off, with no help required. Who needs a man when you have a hand?

Our Afghan Tribal Baubles are made from two brass beads that have been inlaid with sterling silver and turquoise. Discovered at a Souk in Dubai, these beads are made in the traditional style of adornments worn by nomads who move through southern and eastern Afghanistan. These women often bedeck themselves with beads, coins and chains, wearing their wealth on their bodies. We're also partial to stacking here at SITC. But with the amount of jewelry we have there’s a tendency to go from immaculate to immobilized. Movement be damned. That's an occupational hazard we're willing to risk.

Our Nepalese Coral Ring features coral stones set in sterling silver and was discovered in Kathmandu on a trek up the Himalayan peak Gokyo Ri. While this piece doesn’t really go with the gloves and poles we were wearing at the time, we like to think it goes with pretty much everything else.

We discovered our Jade Bangle while exploring the famous Jade Market in Hong Kong. While others may look for transparency or consistency when searching for jade, this particular piece caught our eye because of its unique texture and color. The bangle has small deposits of iron running through the gemstone, giving it character and visual interest. It’s the distinct traits that make this piece one of a kind, just like each of us.

Our Baltic Amber necklace is made with fossilized resin from prehistoric pine trees. These tear-shaped gemstones periodically wash up on the shores of the Baltic Sea, an aquatic anomaly so famous that it comes with its own legend. The story goes like this: there was once a mermaid named Jurate who lived under the sea in an amber castle. One day, while protecting her fish, she fell in love with a sailor and took him back to her subsea property. When her father found out she was canoodling with a mere mortal he sent down a lighting bolt that destroyed her castle and killed her lover. The amber that washes up on shore is called 'Jurate's tears', and is said to be pieces of her castle. While there is no known connection between this story and the Little Mermaid, we think Ariel's amber hair can't be mere coincidence. Just look at this stuff. Isn't it neat? Wouldn't this make your collection complete?
